The expectation is that this paper will initially consider the theme of vampirism, situating it within the context of Romanticism/Gothicism - namely Coleridge's "Christabel", Keats's "Lamia", Polidori's Vampyre, etc. Secondly - and more to the academic point - it will use this analysis to provide a framework for examining how Bram Stoker's dracula has been adapted for film throughout the twentieth century, as a piece of malleable cultural currency. |
