Práce se zaměřuje na malířky na našem území v 19. století. Zabývá se
dívkami, které se rozhodly pro kariéru malířek, a to od šlechtických diletantek
až po profesionální umělkyně. Popisuje také možnosti, jaké měly dívky
v oblasti vzdělávání, studijní cesty do zahraničí a také zakládání
uměleckoprůmyslových škol, se zaměřením na Uměleckoprůmyslovou školu
v Praze. |

The work ‘Paintresses of Bohemia’ subtitled ‘From Dilettantism to Uniting’
deals with the phenomenon of 19th century paintresses. It describes their lives,
careers, as well as the prejudice the society of the day held against women.
Subsequently the thesis examines possibilities of the education of girls in 19th
century, the genres of art acceptable for a young paintress, but also the world of
nobility, studies abroad and later on also at the newly established High School
of Arts and Crafts in Prague. A part of the work focuses on the lives of
professional paintresses. |
