Abstrakt:
Reliable authentication is a key factor in ensuring data security. Information systems requiring a high level of data security do not use passwords that are considered to be too insecure to verify the identity of the subject but instead often use different biometrics. Examples include user verification through fingerprints, keyboard dynamics, or hand-shaped biometrics. There are many approaches to hand authentication, each of which has strengths and weaknesses. There is currently no comparison of these approaches based on both quantitative and qualitative criteria in current scientific publications. The aim of this paper is therefore to compare the different methods of biometric authentication by hand geometry to identify current trends in this area and the need for future research.
