dc.description.abstract	The work deals with the issues connected to the colonial life depicted in the novel Grass is Singing by Doris Lessing. It provides the analysis of the specific issues concerning the relationship between the British ruling class and the native population as well as the mutual relationships among the white farmers. Further, the issues of racial and gender stereotypes are discussed since both these stereotypes shape the lives of the main characters in the novel.	eng
